From Stace:

Join me for another round of sandal making at Cameron Marks!  The workshop will be held down the street from the boutique in Vanessa’s beautiful, inspiring studio.  Light snacks and tea will be served.

In this one day workshop I will walk you through making your very own pair of sandals, made with leather uppers and foam rubber soles. After this class, you will be able to easily replicate this process for yourself and your friends & family!  No experience is necessary, and both men & women are welcome.  You will learn the entire process of sandal making over the course of the day, using your own feet to determine fit, style and color.  Classes are limited to 8 people to allow for plenty of individual assistance.  All the tools and supplies are provided, and you'll have many different leather colors to choose from.

You will choose from three styles: a toe ring sandal, a sandal that buckles at the ankle, or a two-strap slide sandal.  The strap width, leather colors, and strap placement is all up to you.  View photos of past workshops, including my last two workshops at Cameron Marks, here.

In the process of making your sandals, you will also learn basic leather-working techniques and become familiar with shoemaking tools. You will leave with your very own pair of self-made sandals and a list of shoemaking supply resources in California. Bring a friend or family member and enjoy a day of working with your hands to craft a pair of sandals you will wear for years to come.

(some sandal makers might finish a little earlier or a little later)  We will take about 30 min for a lunch break

What to Bring: Working hands and outfits! Bring snacks and a water bottle.  If you would like to use the belt sander to finish your sandals, it’s a good idea to bring a dust mask (not necessary, I can finish your sandals if you prefer)
