Natural Dyeing Workshop & Book Signing

Natural Dyeing Workshop with Sasha Duerr
250.00

Description:

Hello Summer! Welcome the colors of a warm summer day with a fun natural dyeing workshop with artist and designer Sasha Duerr.

You'll learn how to make and use natural dyes. We'll choose plant dyes that add to the summery vibe - ie. an indigo dye vat (ocean & sky blues) , an aloe dye bath (warm yellow/pink/light coral) and a hibiscus dye bath (pink/ mauve/fuschia/dark gray blue) - a variety of local plants & flora to compliment your seaside days!

We'll dye a silk sarong & dip dye a Pali swimwear woven hat (as seen in the photo) to take home!

Pali Swimwear designers, Martha (Sasha's sister) & Naomi, will be at the studio to assist Sasha. Stop by the store after the workshop to check out Pali swim, a new line for Cameron Marks. Designed and ethically made in SF - a new bathing suit to pair with your hand dyed sarong & hat?

We'll cap off the day with a special "To Dye For" cocktail and cheers to the summer ahead!

Instructor:

We're excited to welcome back the Swift Street Dinner Market this summer after a few years! This is a great community event to enjoy with your family and friends outside on the beautiful westside of Santa Cruz. Swing by to shop pop-ups from two of our favorite California artists, Ozma California & Adeline jewelry, and enjoy dinner, wine, & beer from ten local vendors!

Ozma is small independent clothing label made responsibly in LA with a beautiful curation of natural textiles. Designed and owned by former Levi's senior designer, Heidi Baker - you won't want to miss this one!

We're also excited to welcome jewelry designer Lindsay Olson for the dinner market this year! Adeline Jewelry is handcrafted in Lindsay's hometown of Oakland, California. Inspired by the ever-evolving urban landscape, Lindsay's designs embody a rough, geometric aesthetic that is both elegant and timeless.
